Other Assets

Unusual or non-liquid assets are not a problem for us when managing trusts.  We are often presented with other types of assets, such as commodities, jewelry, silver, mineral rights, and art or other collectibles.  In one instance, we had a trust funded in part with an antique automobile.  Our experienced trust officers are knowledgeable in the process of obtaining values and, if necessary, marketing these types of assets.

Caring for Margaret

Margaret epitomized the caregiver.  She took care of her parents until the end, and then cared for her elderly sister and brother.  When she needed help, her professional advisors turned to us.  Through four trusts, one for each sibling, Margaret was able to care for her family and also protect herself.  We took care of Margaret in her home and maintained the residence for her.  Eventually, we brought in caregivers; and, when this became impractical, we assisted her in selecting a high quality retirement home.  She had no close relatives and named us as an attorney-in-fact under a durable power or attorney for health care.  We interface with doctors and health providers to give her the very best care - the kind she showed her family.
